    Sort / Filter rows

    hi,

Im back again for more learning. I would like to ask if it is possible to sort a range of row? What I mean is, if I sort like Row 1, the entire block of row 1 will move as well? Like if i have column A to F, then row 1 of column A to F will move together at the same time. Would that be possible?

    thanks,

    stoey

    Hi,

I'm not quite clear exactly what you mean but yes you can sort a range of rows across as many columns as you wish. Just select the range and choose the Data Sort and then select the colums you wish to use as the primary, secondary etc ort keys.

As an incidental, you can also sort columns, i.e. a left/right sort. Whilst sorting by rows is an extremely common requirement, I find a lot of users don't realise there is also a column sort as well.

Here's the basic structure ... just change the columns between the '----' to whatever you want to sort by.

    Hope that helps.

Question for Richard though ... is this extensible to more than 3 keys? I've never found the need for more, but didn't actually know this was possible! Could you advise please?
