    emailing worksheet.

    Hello,

My company has recently aquired a new contract and I have been tasked with creating a "service request form" which is to be emailed to their asset client for authorisation purposes.

One of the stipulations is that the form when emailed cannot be an attachment it has to be visible within the message body.

    I have created the form (attached) using excel 2003. I have used combo boxes so that our operators upon call reciept can simply ask the customer 3 questions;

    What is your store number
    What is your store name
    What is your contract number

Then filling the remaining text boxes and radio buttons manually.

The sheet will then locate the address information etc from a hidden database within the document. Once all fields are completed the operator presses the submit form button and it is emailed to the client.

The problem im having is that I cannot locate any VBA code (I do not have the skillsto create my own) to insert the form (surrounded by border) into the message body of the email, my current code attaches the whole workbook which isnt feasible.

Hopefully somebody will be able to help?

    EDIT:

Sorry I have also attempted using the cell range selection part of VBA, however the form is overlying the cells and only directly linked to the database.

    Thanks in advance,

    re: emailing worksheet.

You might be better using a product designed for this purpose. It would be worth looking at Microsoft Infopath. The following link would be a reasonable place to start.

    Hello Ryan,

If you need the worksheet to be interactive then you will need to something else. Outlook doesn't support the use of VBA ActiveX controls within the body of the email. The basic structure of the worksheet can be converted into HTML and included with no active controls, but the recipient's browser must support HTML to be able to view the worksheet, otherwise only the text will appear. Martin's idea is a good one provided everyone is using Excel 2007.
    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

    Re: emailing worksheet.

    All,

Thank you for your input its much appreciated!

Unfortunately I'm stuck with using excel 2003 so ill just have to revise/scrap the form if I cannot find a solution.

    Leith,

Once the information in the combo boxes is selected they can remain static, I just need the selections to be visible to the client and the ability to manipulate text boxes would be beneficial but not essential. Is that possible?

    EDIT:
I've just been dwelling on the issue, would it at all be possible for the information shown on screen to be coverted to a simple text only email like a webform can?

For example; the form would collate information from what is currently shown in the combo boxes/defined fields then put the information into the email?

Again Thank you for your help.

    Ryan
