Unable to set ColorIndex font property?

Can someone please tell me why this won't work or at least a way to accomplish the same thing. Basically, I'm trying to hide unneeded data by making the font the same color as the cell:

As a side note, I have no trouble doing this if I use a pre-determined color:

The interior colorindex is probably xlNone (-4142) which is not a valid colorindex for the font.

To test, click on a cell with data, click on Format, Cells, Custom, and enter ;;;
then click on the "OK" button.
