Multiple Ranges named as one range

    Hi all

i have a worksheet which contains 33 sections of data. I wanted to save these individual ranges as one named range. When I try and do this it only saves 16 of them!

I guess that this is the limit that can be saved in one Range Name.

Anyone know of a workaround for this?

    Thanks In advance

I don't think so. How are you trying to do this?

I selected all the ranges and then tried naming the ranges in the Cell box next to the formula bar, but this only captured 16 of the ranges. I then tried to do it with Insert/Name/Define on the menu, but that wouldnt accept the 33 ranges.

    ??
    Thanks

I think this could be done using the VBA Union method, viz:

There is a limit to the length of the formula string you can enter into the Refers To portion of the name dialog so I suspect you are exceeding this. Why do you neeed to name these 33 disparate ranges as one?

Thumbs up Re: Multiple Ranges named as one range

    Gents, Thanks.

I think I ve got it sorted

Ive split the ranges into 3 ranges

    HIST1: contains 10 seperate Ranges
    HIST2: contains 10 seperate Ranges
    HIST3: contains 13 seperate Ranges

I then used the UNION to Make another Range called HISTORY

I need the 33 ranges named as 1 simple down to the way I need to report the data by Month and the 33 individual pieces of data.

    Thanks All
