Unlock a cell with a button

Hi,
I had an idea for a function in a sheet I am working on.
I want to let the user unlock certain cells but only after they have clicked a button. To notify that the cell is unlocked I also want it to change colour.
Is this possible?

I have attached a small example. Password is mg

Try This , I attached the worksheet with the macros, remember to format your buttons and unprotect otherwise you cant use them!!!!

Are you not forgetting that the sheet is protected, so changing the locked property will create an error!

hmm..seems i get a problem if the sheet is locked for editing.

Thanks a lot! Only thing it's missing now is a box where the user must type in the password when unlocking the sheet.
