Change Color Of Cell Range When Last Cell Receives Data

Hello, I need my worksheet to automatically fill in a range of cells (from Range B*:G*) with my yellow color once the last cell in the range (G*) receives data, and automatically switch back to no color if the data in Cell G* is erased. However, if somebody merges a range, it should appear as it would by default - as if no macro exists, if that makes sense. I've attached a sample worksheet to help explain the situation. Thanks for your help!

There is so much good in the worst of us,
And so much bad in the best of us,
That it hardly behooves any of us
To talk about the rest of us.

Select Columns B to G and go to Format|Conditional Formatting

Choose Formula Is from 1st drop down and enter Formula =$G1<>""

Click Format and choose colour from Pattern tab...

    Click Ok

    Click Ok to finish.

Now select B2:G3 and go to Format|Conditional Formatting and click Delete...

Choose Condition 1 and click Ok...

Formatting now doesn't apply to 1st 3 rows.

Re: Change Color Of Cell Range When Last Cell Receives Data

Thank you so much! I only needed Cells B1:G1 to not to use the formula, so I selected them in the second half of your instructions. I discovered that when I merge Cells B*:G*, the formula doesn't work for it anyways, so that's cool. Also, I had to replace Cells B2:G2 & B3:G3 with cells from below them to get them to work, but now everything works smoothly. Thanks again, and keep it up!
