ComboBox code running on loading

I don't know how to prevent Excel from running the code associated with a comboBox at loading and closing of the document. The code is supposed to run on combobox change, which it does. I don't know if loading the document changes the ComboBox value, and if so, how I can prevent it ot get around the problem. Thanks in advance for your help/suggestions.
