Scroll bar in Textbox (Autoshape) on worksheet

Hi All,

I am using a TextBox (Autoshape) on one of my Excel sheets (don't confuse this with the TextBox on UserForm). It has a lot of text in it. I wanna know if it is possible to have a scrollbar inside so that its size can be kept small.

As far as I know you cannot do that! how ever cant you just use the normal textbox (ActiveX version) to do this task?

Can you attach a sample workbook with the normal textbox (ActiveX version) you are talking about?

Also, can we generate this TextBox by using VBA Code (that is a requirement for my project)?

I have attached a sample and you can reference the box exactly the same
eg.

this is the same textbox you would add onto a userform its just on a worksheet instead!

Dear Stuie,

I think (not sure) this TextBox would not satisfy my project needs. As an example, I am attaching a file. In this, whenever you click on a cell, a textbox pops up with the cell contents. This is something I am looking forward to. I can very well change the height of the TextBox by code depending on the amount of text present in it. But, it becomes endlessly big as I have to read patent claims which are realllly very long

. So, I would like to have a scroll bar in the TextBox if possible.

Can you still see if the ActiveX TextBox is applicable here or is there some other solution here (my instinct says yes)?
