help with creating a macro to run a file through

hi, I am not an excel expert at all, but I need some help, hopefully this makes sense and you guys can help me out. I would really appreciate it

    1. I have a .txt file that I open in excel
    2. my goal is to eliminate doubles of product rows with the same model number...

    so here is an example:
our model number column is like this

    product 12345 A
    product 12345 B
    product 12345 C

I want to run some kind of macro to take out rows of B and C and only leave A

there is one other catch... some stuff where there is only 1 item it does not have an A B or C, just like 'product 12346' those need to stay in the SS as well

then it would be fabulous if in the end it can make sure that column has no double, just in case we messed up the data somewhere.

thanks so much, please let me know!

ok, I have updated a snippit, also, I notice that

there is another catch, some items that are still duplicated fit neither of the rules above such as:

    Whirlpool Drive Coupler 285753
    Kenmore Drive Coupler 285753

they are both different, 1 should be excluded, neither have an A or B

    midwest,

You are using "MS Office Version:Excel 2008 Mac".

As far as I know, any code I write, will not run on "Excel 2008 Mac".

Maybe someone that codes in "Excel 2008 Mac" can assist you.

You may want to edit the "Title:" of your post to include "Excel 2008 Mac".
