    Countdown display

After looking through the forums I was not able to find a solution for my problem.

I am creating a countdown timer to run down a list of different stations I have. I know I am missing it somewhere in the formula but for the life of me I just can't catch it.

It starts in one column (J) and goes down until it ends on a blank spot. As it goes down each row it will grab the start time from each cell just to the left. In the activecell it should update the time remaining. This program runs continuously (as I've added it in on workbook open) so I can run other macros to place names and such at each station.

Can you post the spreadsheet with it? It may help us see what you're trying to do.

    Hello FC1 Vamos,

See what happens? You change rates and the mind is the first thing to go. Just kidding. I was a DS (Display Group). Served on three ships: USS Midway CVA-41, USS Towers DDG-9, and the USS Reeves CG-24.

Anyway, you do realize the Timer counts in milliseconds and not seconds? The system clock only counts in seconds. Your time values will not always appear to update from one cell to the next because of this difference.
    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

    Re: Countdown display

Timer returns the number of elapsed seconds since midnight, with fractional precision on PCs (10 ms on mine), and whole seconds (according to Help) on Macs.

    Re: Countdown display

shg, you gave me an idea.

In my old code I was basing my formulas around Time() and Now() functions. Instead of going off of those I decided to use the Timer and it's elapsed seconds to set the clock and just round the number at 60 second intervals. The precision didn't have to be exact so the fraction of seconds really didn't matter. The other issue I had to get through was calculating the time into an actual clock cycle since the formula treated it as a full decimal instead of stopping at 60 seconds to change the number (hope that made sense). Once I got that the thing now works like a charm. Here is my final code.

    Thanks for everyones help.

As for you there Leith, yeah, my mind has headed down hill since they Navy forced me to go Friggin Clueless (FC). I had so much fun working on UYK-7's, USH-19's, and SNAP II back in the days of the DS. You don't have to think anymore really to fix the machines they got these days. Hence why I don't stay in rate much anymore.
