Editing Module name creates problems in macro list

Whenever I edit the name of a module that contains a macro, the name of the macro gets preceded by the document name and module name when I click on the Macros button in the Developer tab.

For example, lets say I have a workbook called Book1.xlsm. Inside that, I have three macros, each one in their own separate module: Macro1, Macro2, and Macro3. When I click the Macros button in the Developer ribon in Excel, I get a nice, neat list:

    Macro1
    Macro2
    Macro3

Now let's say the module for Macro1 is named the default: Module1. When I edit that Module name to be FirstMacro, it messes up the macro's name in the list that appears after clicking the Macros button in the developer ribbon:

    'Book1.xlsm.'!FirstMacro.Macro1
    Macro2
    Macro3

This doesn't always happen to me, but I don't know what causes it and now it seems to almost always happen. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Eric

Re: Editing Module name creates problems in macro list

    Hello Eric,

Does the macro still run after you change the module name? If so then this not really a problem but just a matter of aesthetics and not something you need to worry about.
    Sincerely,
