Counter based on cell color

hi
i was trying to make my roster sheet in which , i have 5 rows with 5 columns each, i have made three counters as well
1. Annual leave -red
2. no of days worked -blue
3. sickness - green

and these three have 3 diff colors like red blue and green
what i want to know is
if i take an annual leave the color of the cell, i change to red manually, then the corresponding counter ie annual leave counter should say 1.
then if i take more annual leave (ie changing the color of the cell to red) the counter should incrrease correspondingly to 2,3 ...so on
how can i do that in excel
could anyone pls help me with this

Hello dolphin_m70,

It would help to know how these cells are colored. Are you using VBA to change the cell's interior color or are you using Conditional Formatting?

im coloring it manually, im changing the color to red blue or green , no condnl formatting has been used
