    Sorting ranges

If I have some data in my worksheet, with headers, with four columns, set out below:

    A - Date.......-Date
    B - Name.......-Text
    C - Category...- Text
    D - Value......- Currency

I want to sort it by date, how what would I need to put in the sort function, and how would I go about selecting the range? Could I just select the columns?

Sorry if this is a bit basic, but the help isn't very clear
    Thanks.

    Re: Sorting ranges

Assuming your data has no completely blank rows you should be able to just click in any filled cell in column A and then do the sort (AZ/ZA in the toolbar or via the Data menu).

Sorry, I didn't make myself entirely clear, this needs to be a macro job. I've got it now, though having adapted code out of the macro recorder.
