    Dependent Drop Down Boxes

I need to be able to create a drop down box where when value 1 is selected it populates a second field with specific values, but when value 2 is selected it the same 2nd field with a different set of values. I'll store the data for value 1 = these options and value 2 = these other options in a seperate tab.

    help???

    thanks!

The attached may be of use.

The yellow cells on the drop-down worksheet use the 'INDIRECT function as their data source.

The basic idea is to list your alternatives desired (in the second dropdown) and name each such set of alternatives as a named range. The name you choose must match exactly the text of each choice in the first drop down (so if the first item in your first dropdown is the text "Male", then the data you want displayed in the second dropdown for "Male" must be named "Male").
You then use the INDIRECT(cell reference of first dropdown) function as the data source for your second dropdown
