Combining data from three columns into a new column.

    Hello,
I'm fairly new to excel, and need help asap (boss is expecting me soon).
I have 4 columns that I need to organize into one column...here's what it looks like:
    PROSACCADE ANTISACCADE BASELINE SACCADE TYPE:
    230 678 887 Baseline
    235 890 927 Antisaccade
    677 133 113 Antisaccade
    986 778 902 Prosaccade
    . . . etc.
    . . .
    .etc. etc. etc.

Here's what I want to do; I want a new column that, depending on the SACCADE TYPE, will enter that value into the new column...so, for instance, if the first trial in the above example is Baseline, I'll need the value 887 in the new column...the second is Antisaccade, I'll need 890 in the next row of the new column...etc....please help! (I hope this made sense).

    Re: Help with the basics...please.

Your post does not comply with Rule 1 of our Forum RULES. Your post title should accurately and concisely describe your problem, not your anticipated solution. Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.
To change a Title on your post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.
    Hope that helps.

    See the attached workbook.
    Formula: =INDEX(Data_Values,ROW()-1,MATCH(D2,Types,0))

This workbook relies upon named ranges.

Note to Moderator: last edit by OP showed a time that was after instructions to amend title. I assume the title was amended from the original.

FYI, If the title in the Moderator's post is different than the original title by the OP, then the title has been changed.

Thanks. I didn't read that closely. Will pay more attention.
    IMO, still a poor title.
