select activecell and following

How can I select the current activecell and the next 50 following rows of that column? I cannot define a range since it has to variable.

though it is rarely necessary to actually select cells in code.

Thanks, I have another little problem I just cannot figure out.

I am trying to copy a specified range from another sheet into the active cell of another sheet. Can I actually do this?
