though it would realy depend on where the found cells are. Somethink like (-3,1) would only work if the found cells are in column A.

If that does not work. Post a workbook to see what can be done.

    Hope this helps.

though of course if C1 is found cell then you can't move up 3 rows as there is no row -2 ... can you explain more thoroughly what it is you're trying to do ?

    Re: Offset Problem!

simply i'm trying to find a word named "Total" in my sheet then to move to another cell and copy it .

the other i'm trying to reach is not in constant row but it's in constant column ,

the problem is the word i'm trying to find "Total" is located in a merged cells so it combines three columns "BCD" and when i want to move left with one step it goes to A and if to right one step it goes to E . , so what if i need t go C

i tried by unmerging the cell but still the problem

going back to D_Rennie's post - create a watered down version of your file that contains nothing other than the pieces of interest (ie keep small) and subsequently attach to a reply - we can then visualise what you're working with.

(and yes as a general rule of thumb avoid using Merged cells - particularly when it comes to horizontal ranges as you can achieve the same effect using "Centre Across Selection" option via Format)

    Re: Offset Problem!

I've been coding VBA for a fair few years on and off and there's still more I don't know than stuff I do... in short, practice, practice & more practice. And time of course. If you're proficient in C# I understand that the syntax is probably odd but the basic premise is hopefully not too alien so you will pick up quicker up than most.

I myself find it equally challenging when I have to do any non-VB based coding... like yesterday where I spent a day (an ENTIRE day!) trying to get the Google Maps API working with some server side web code... any code that utilises { ; ! tends to make me run a mile!
