Use ADO to get specific data from closed workbook and fill array

Can i get ADO to fill an array of specific columns of all rows of specific worksheet of closed source workbook ?
Source workbook may contain between 5000 and 10,000 rows, and approx 100 columns. I want data from say column A, C, P & X.

No havent started to code this, but have found various examples of it on forums, but nothing for specific columns to an array.
