problem with len() function to extract date from string

    Hi Friends,

I appreciate all your efforts in the forum.

I wrote a macro to extract date from the string (like 07162009_n1). I extracted date using the splite function but I have little problem with it. When the date part is more than 8 charecters (like 071620009_n2) I need to send this entire row into the error sheet. I tried with len() function but didn't work out.

I attached excel macro sheet for your reference please kindly refer it and give proper solution to solve it.

    Thanks & Regards
