Unhappy runtime 1004 error - string to long

    Hi guys,

please help, i thought i had it working, but i just got an error and got instantly sick to my stomach

I have a document that distributes roles to worksheets based on a unique identifier... this works fine until i get a '1004' run time error.

I have 10 columns though 1 of the 10 column could have up to 500 characters... from what I understand when you are parsing strings the max is 255 which is what could be causing the 1004 error.

Is there a way to get around this.. either by a macro looking at a particular work sheet (in this case it is 'Report') and if there is a cell that is greater than 250 chars to reduce to 249?

hope you can help guys, thanks soooo much,

    thanks,

Would you care to share what it was? Maybe others can benefit?
