Copy data from new everyday csv file to next empty row in master excel file

    Hi All,

I hope someone can help me.

I have csv files auto generated (with date stamp in name) and saved in a specific folder everyday. I need to find a macro that will copy the row(s) every day and add to the next empty row in the master excel file.

Some days the csv file may have a single row of data and on some other days it may have multiple rows of data to copy and paste.

    Regards,
    Mo

This will allow you to choose the file yourself:

If you want it to automatically look for the file based on today's date can you provide the syntax for the file name.

    Hi Dom,

Awesome! Thanks for the speedy answer ... and works great.

The files are named as below,
    Queue Performance Phone Daily13_Dec_2009
    Queue Performance Phone Daily14_Dec_2009
    Queue Performance Phone Daily15_Dec_2009

is it possible to copy only the data row (s) from the source file (excluding the header row) and paste on the next empty row in the master file starting from Column B?

Here are the files attached if it helps.

Is it possible to add the date from the file name to Column A of the same row in the master file (automatic data1)?

I will really appreciate the help.
    Cheers,
    Mo

Re: Copy data from new everyday csv file to next empty row in master excel file

Thanks for the help Leith and Dom.

Leith - i tried your code, but ran into a few problems.

I would really really appreciate if someone can help me with this.

I have attached all the raw csv data files and the master data files where I need the data from the CSV files to be added everyday under the previous day's data.
All the csv files have the date attached to their names, I also need this date to be added along with the data to the Master Data files.

I will need to add some extra tabs to the master data files in the future to add data from some more csv files of similar format.

The data from the master data files will be used to update my Final report. Currently i do this manually and really looking for help to automate this with macros. So once again ... your help will be great. i know very little vb, but getting better with excel formulas everyday!:-)

    Cheers,
    Mo
