Code to Pull Data from a Different File

Can someone provide with a code to pull data from one file into another?

I need the macro to pull data into an open file from a closed one.

The data in the closed file is on one tab and could potentially have a filter on it (it is a shared file). Once the data is pulled from the closed file I need to paste special value the information onto a single tab in the open file. From there I will run a vlookup to allocate the data where I need it.

This should hopefully be descriptive enough to start..Sorry I didn't explain it in enough detail on my 1st post.
