    Protect excel file from being copied

    hi guys!

    is it possible to create a macro that would restrict an excel file from being copied? My excel file is stored on local hard drive is there any possibilities that i could protect it from being copied to another drive say network drive?

    Could you not get the file to check its network path on the open Workbook 'Event' if it is not the correct path make the workbook close!

    Anyone with read access to the network drive can copy the file to anywhere else they have write access.
