    Comparing lists

Hi guys, just registered here, looking for a bit of help (these things tend to be a bit hard to explain!)

I have two lists and I need to compare the two..

One is a big list, with names in coulumn A and addresses in B. I have also pasted another, smaller list in D just of names. The names in column D are the ones that we need to send things to, so if a name appears in column A and D then I need to extract the names and addresses (from A and B) somewhere into the spreadsheet.

Ive attached an example, pretty much what I need the end result to be. In RED is what I have manually done that needs to be automated (obviously completely made up names, and the list are much much bigger, hence I need it to be automated).

And I found THIS which is very close to what I want, but not quite if you see what I mean

    Thanks for any help!

    Re: Comparing lists

Thanks, I try to make it clear, I am asking for a favour after all!

Thanks for that formula, the only problem is it has to compare the whole list, not just the same row in each column because the names arent going to match. There will be some spaces that ive had to remove from colums A/B so they dont match up.

EDIT: Never mind, I've managed to use that macro to out put what i need!

So I selct all the names is column A, it compares my selection with the list in column D, if it finds a match then it outputs the matching name to an offset of 9 colums accross ,and then it does the same with my selection offset to 1 (so basicly column B) and outputs that to an offset of 10 before moving to te next name in list D I just have to remove the spaces left then, which is easy enough with a filter or another macro

If anyone in the future is searching for and finds this thread then im subscribed to it so reply if you dont understand and Ill get it working for you And thanks again @rwgrietveld
