    Screen Updating Off

    Hey All

    I want to turn scree updating off as soon as I open an excel workbook.
    The reason is that I have pivot tables and I want to get rid of the update data prompt.

    Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Hi Manny,

    I don't think the ScreenUpdating property has any affect on the pivot table update message. DisplayAlerts may prevent it from appearing (haven't tested), but that can be detrimental too since you won't see any other alerts from Excel while that session is running.
