    clean up sheet

    Hi

I need to clean up a sheet before I populate data in it. I am doing the following:-

    1. Clearing contents of all cells
    2. Un-merging all cells
    3. Clearing formats
    4. Clearing comments
    5. Remoce filters
    6. Remove groupings

Is there something else I need to do?

    Thanks
    Ajay

    What about

    - range names
    - data validation
    - formulas

    Re: clean up sheet

Seems to me, if your going through all that, I would simply insert a new blank sheet, delete the old sheet, rename the new sheet to the name of the deleted sheet...done.

    Re: clean up sheet

If the format of the new sheet is always the same then I would have a template sheet hidden, delete the old one & copy a new sheet from the template sheet.

I would also avoid using MergedCells

    See the ContactsForm example here

    Hope that helps.

    Hi

    Thanks for responding.
I am populating all data through code. So, there won't be any formulas or data validations in the sheet. I am not using range names.

    Thanks

    Hi

I have lots of code in this sheet. So, I can't insert a new sheet. Is there a better way of achieving this?

    Thanks
    Ajay

    Hi
    Thanks for responding.

I would try it and let you know if it works.

I need to use merged cells for making data "presentable".

    Thanks
    Ajay

    Re: clean up sheet

You don't need MergedCells, look at Centre across Selection in the Format Cells menu
