    Auto Update Cells

    I am creating a bill of materials for a work application and am having some trouble. When the person filling out the BOM enters the part, I want the spreadsheet to automatically update the rest of the fields such as part number, manufaturer, etc. to match that part. I have all the data in one sheet of the spreadsheet, I am just not sure how to link all that data efficiently. Thank you in advance for any help!

    To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

    If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

    Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!

    I attached two examples. The initial example has the Part and you can select it from a drop down menu. The second example, final.jpg, shows what I want to happen. The price expected, manufacturer, part # and supplier automatically fill out based on what is selected under Item Description.

    I uploaded a sample. The BOM sheet is what will be available to whoever is working with it. Once they select a part, I want the other fields to update according to the data on the Data sheet. We use specific parts for each job so not every part will be used and I just want to make it easier so that all the extra information doesn't have to be typed in everytime they enter a part.
