User selected merged cell range to be cleared

User get question to select area to be cleared.
Only need to be a present merged cell range that is entitled for clearance.
I face problem to implement it. Anybody able to help me.

Macro need to start with inputpox.

When you say "clear" do you just want the contents cleared?

Colour fill and unmerge actions needs to be performed as well.

This problem is starting to sound familiar.

Changing srng.MergeArea.ClearContents to srng.MergeArea.Clear will clear the contents and unmerge the range, so all that's left is the colour fill.

Thanks! Possible to have it filled with a colour after unmerging?
I want to use colour RGB 227-227-227, possible to use specific colours or only the standards like black, red, gold, green etc. I have read a website with colourcodes, I will look at it, but need any helpf to implement the colour fill action.

.Interior.ColorIndex = 5 did not work for me.
