Update external data on to hidden sheets

Hi,

I just want to know if I have an sheet that updates from a database when the workbook is opened, will this work if the sheet that gets updated is hidden.

Essentially this sheet will hold staff information which I dont want to be visable, but it needs to be upto date. so I have an sql link to our database through an access database.

Will keeping the sheet hidden cause any complications for this, and if so what will I have to do as a work around.

Also to further complicate things I have the macro enabled splash screen running on this. Basically if your macro security is too high all the sheets bar the splash screen are xlveryhidden and if macros are able to run those sheets are visable and the macro security splash screen is very hidden.

Could I keep it in the vba code that the sheets names "STAFF LIST" and "DEPT" are hidden on open regardless of the macro, or would this mean the "STAFF LIST" sql update would not work?
