Change cell content based from another cell's content

I have a sheet with roughly 600 rows of data. Row one is the header and I generally start my data in row three. I have a name in column B, a summary in column D, and number values in columns F through AE. I want to use a macro to search column D for "GT*". If it finds that, I want to empty cells F, G and L through AE while putting the value of 1 in cell K, then embolden and itallicize cell B. Can anyone help me get started?

    Hi RochesterColonial

    Welcome to the forum

You would do best to post a sample workbook showing Before and After.

It should clearly illustrate your problem and not contain any sensitive data.

    Cheers

How do I attach a file to a post?

To attach a file to your post, you need to be using the main 'New Post' or 'New Thread' page and not 'Quick Reply'. To use the main 'New Post' page, click the 'Post Reply' button in the relevant thread.

On this page, below the message box, you will find a button labelled 'Manage Attachments'. Clicking this button will open a new window for uploading attachments. You can upload an attachment either from your computer or from another URL by using the appropriate box on this page. Alternatively you can click the Attachment Icon to open this page.

To upload a file from your computer, click the 'Browse' button and locate the file. To upload a file from another URL, enter the full URL for the file in the second box on this page. Once you have completed one of the boxes, click 'Upload'.

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window. You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.

Re: Change cell content based from another cell's content

Thank you for looking at my issue. I have attached two small excel files for examples.

It may be hard to see, but I am looking at column D for "GT*" and changing values in cells F-AE and formatting cell B for roughly 600 rows of data.

I miss spoke earlier when I said "empty cells F, G and L through AE". It should be emptying cells F through J and L through AE, then adding a value of "1" in K.

I appreciate any help anyone can give me.
