Insert cell A value into default text cell D for each specific row

I need something along the same lines...but I am not sure how to ask it, because I am rather Excel illiterate(for now). I have been managing to get everything done I need, except for this one thing. It is probably something elementary, but I cannot find a post on it because I do not know how it would be listed for sure. Here is what I looking for help with:

example: "The [blank] cat" or "The [cell A] cat."

I would like to make "The [cell A] cat" default text for cell D, and cell D would automatically insert whatever text is written in cell A on the same row. So if cell A in row 1 was orange, it would say "The orange cat" in cell D on row 1. If row 2 was black in cell A, it would says "The black cat" in cell D, row 2. I hope someone understands what I need. LOL!!! I would like this function to be performed for all rows with information in them to the bottom of the spreadsheet.

I cannot say how much I would appreciate any help, this is driving me crazy!
