Obtain selected fields from web, copy to sheet

    Hi Forum contributors
Is it possible to automate the copying of selected fields from a web page to my Excel sheet?
The fields that need copying are the Earning Announcement date (in Company events) and Analyst Opinion Recommondation Trends (in Analyst Opinion).
    Currently I use this macro:

    Use a webquery per firm. (menu/DATA/External data/webquery

I don't think that a web query will work for this purpose.
A web query will give all the data that is in table that is check marked. This would mess up my excel sheet. I only want a single field from the web page at the time.
    Thanks anyway

Could a moderator please delete this thread. It basically is a duplicate.

It appears that there is no solution to this problem; see 2nd posting.
    Many thanks.

Actually the web query will work fine even if you only want one cell of data from the query. I do it all the time.

Just query the web page to a separate part of the spreadsheet (like over 20 columns away from you viewed portion of your excel screen). Then simply copy the one cell you want to your wanted location. Or use a formula that will put it there automatically.

I use queries automatically for many hours a day from many web sites and just take out the data I need.
