Workbook.open file ext issue

I've an Excel 2003 spreadsheet that runs VBA to open different excel files and copy info from these files. It's been working fine for years but recently its running into issues w/ file ext. Some require me to add .xls in the code, while some don't. I've tried both hide and unhide known file ext in Folder options. Wondering if anyone else ran into this same issue. Thanks.

Re: Workbook.open file ext issue

Hello Roget168,

Welcome to the Forum!

To help isolate the problem quickly, it would be best if you posted your workbook. If you can not, please post the macro code you are using. Use the Code Tags formatting icon to make your code easier to read and copy.

How to wrap your Code using the # icon
1. Select all your code using the mouse.
2. Click on the # icon on the toolbar in the Message window. This will automatically wrap the text you selected with the proper Code tags to create a Code Window in your post.
Sincerely,
Leith Ross

Remember To Do the Following....

1. Use code tags. Place
before the first line of code and
after the last line of code.
2. Thank those who have helped you by clicking the Star below the post.
3. Please mark your post [SOLVED] if it has been answered satisfactorily.
