    Save As Problems with SharePoint

    Hi

I have an excel spreadsheet that is stored on a sharepoint site. When its opened there are a set of forms that need to be completed by the user. Once the user has completed the form I have some code which then saves over the original document on the sharepoint site. My problem is that it won't save over the original document without a run time error. If I change the code to rename the file something else it works perfectly. Not sure if anyone can help?

    Hi,

Is the workbook being opened as read-only? What is the error message? Which version of Sharepoint are you using?
    Hope that helps,

    Colin

    Hi Colin

It does open up as a read only but it should still save ok. Its Sharepoint 2007. The error message is run time error 1004.

    Hi,

If it's read only then I think you won't be able to save it unless you use a different filename. I assume then that you don't want the file to be opened as read-only. There are a number of things that can cause the file to be opened as read-only, perhaps have a look at this thread as a starting point?

Thanks Colin. Is the only option to use the Check in and Check out option?
