    Add-in modifications

    Hi all,

Need a bit of information please.

I have add-ins that run from our server, supporting calculations and processes on work stations.

However, when I need to make modifications to these add-ins, I can not change the existing file as they are in use by other users, so I need to make a copy and then replace the existing file with the new when the users are not using excel.

Is there a way to maybe make the add-ins read only to others and give me complete write access whenever needed?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jacques,

Yes, in Windows Explorer right click on the add-in > properties and make it read-only.

    Have a read through this:
