    Tracking Updates between two spreadsheets

    Hi,

I have two spreadsheets with the same data headers. One is old and other one is a newer version (as in updated!!). Is there a way that we can track data changed made between the two versions.

For eg, I have attached an excel spreadsheet which has two tables. Is there a way to make sure that line item 3 has a new part number, line item 5 has a nwe sourcing status.

    Kindly let me know,.

    Thanks,
    Booo!!

My first question is how do you intend to match up the rows to compare them ? If the partnumber can change how do I know which row to compare with ? Are the rows constant ? i.e. if in row 5 in old the same part will be in Row 5 in New ? Are the Part Names Unique ? Can the part names be changed to ?

    Here's one approach..

    =COUNTIFS(B:B,H4,C:C,I4,D:D,J4)

... I'm comparing all three columns between the two tables ... when all three don't match then the row recieves a zero ... indicating that row does not have a matching row in the other table.... please see attached file.
