Set a month as range based on single date in one cell

I have dates in a row formatted as month/year, i.e. April 2011(4/1/2011). I need a cell under this date to match the April 2011 date to the same month and year in a column on another sheet that has daily dates and select that whole month (April) as the range. Once that range it selected I need it to find a maximum value from the column 2 to the right. Thanks in advance for any help, Mike

Can you post a sample workbook, scrubbed of any sensitive info?
Is your code running too slowly?
Does your workbook or database have a bunch of duplicate pieces of data?
Have a look at this article to learn the best ways to set up your projects.
It will save both time and effort in the long run!

Ok, I'm assuming you want these formulas on the Budget page. I'd guess you'd want to use SumIfs(). This function will sum the cells of a range if a set of cells meet one or more conditions.

For example, I typed into H9 on the Budget sheet:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
This will give me the sum of everything in column C on the InputSheet where the date is in May. Make sense?

Yes, I'm able to work with that formula. Thank you very much for the assistance and explanation Dave. I can finally finish this budget sheet!! Mike
