Sort Column containing text and numeric data

I have a spreadsheet I need to sort on unique item numbers, the numbers are generally (but not always) 5 numeric digits long, but many have suffixes that are text. The results I get always put numeric data together, then text, although I have the entire column formatted as text.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Jacob,

Create a column next to your column and do a formula that appends a "" after the number. This will convert all your numbers to text.

Example: In A2 is 45, Then in B2 = A2 & ""

Copy and paste this new column over your old column using Values Only and see if that works.

Thanks Marvin! I have been attacking this from the other side trying to get a single quote in front of the numbers. This should work like a charm!
