Suggestions for lining up Day for current & prior months

Note: I'm not expecting a solution from anyone but I would like high-level ideas as how this could be solved through VBA coding.

Please see attached Excel sheet to help understand what I'm looking for when reading the below problem.

I need to create a re-occurring report that lines up the Day (NOT the Date!) of the current month with the same Day as the prior month AND the current month prior year. For example, the first of the current month, June, is a Wednesday. The prior month the first Wednesday falls on May 4th so in the report the 4th of May would be on the same row as the 1st of June. Same logic is needed for the current month prior year, in this case, June of 2010.

Again, I'm not asking someone to solved this -- well, unless you already have then by all means, send me the code -- just ideas on how to attack it. Building the SQL and pulling the data (likely into an array) is not the issue, it's automatically (via code, of course) lining up the Day of the week along the months is the challenge. TIA!
