    Calculate totals based on selected rows

    If you can suggest a better way to do this please do.

    I've attached a basic example of what i'm trying to accomplish.

    I have a price sheet where column A is parts names and C:E are pricing depending on who the buyer is, (wholesale, retail, etc..)

    I'd like to have a drop down where they select what type of buyer it is (in the example see G3) G4 should be a total of the parts they're purchasing based on what type of buyer they are. I'm thinking of using the B to put an X next to what they're purchasing to indicate what they're buying.

    lastly if possible i'd like it to hide the columns of pricing that aren't being used, in this case C & D.

    Hi. What you are trying to do is quite simple, but you don't have enough detail. You have a price depending on the type of buyer, but you don't have a quanitity. So assuming "Green" is the name of a buyer, you need somewhere to show how many of each item they purchased, as well as whether they are a Wholesaler, Retailer or Reseller.

    You need to have all the information available first, in order for there to be a calculation

    Slongy, thanks for replying so quickly. Actually, I'm not in autoparts, I just came up with simple examples. I won't need component based quantity because the overall config can only have one of each. i may add a quantity for each total config, but i can worry about that later.

    You can create a column for buyer and lastly build the SUMIF condition in G4
