    Macros in a shared workbook

    Hi All

From my understanding, Macros should run find in a shared workbook, they just can't be viewed or edited right?

If so, not sure what i'm doing wrong....

I've got a Macro enabled workbook that is set up as shared, on a network drive which we have full access rights to.

The workbook contains a UserForm which I made, that simply just drop down lists and free text fields that people fill out, then click a macro button on the userform, which submits that data into a row on a sheet, then clears the form.

The userform works fine, it appears ok and the submit macros works great. However.....

When i tested it, I opened it at my computer, and had a colleague open it at theirs (so we both had it open at the same time)

I input some data into the userform, and submitted it with the macro. On my workbook, it worked fine and i could see the data... but my colleague, who had the workbook open too, could not see the data i just put into the workbook? even after i saved it?

Does anyone know why my colleague could not see the data i put into the workbook, even after sharing it?

    Many thanks!

The version open on your collegues machine would have been read only. I don't think there is a way of updating a workbook that is open on someone else's machine.

    Hi

    Many thanks for your response

    Not sure i understand?

If the workbook is shared, doesn't that mean the other person can open it too and work on the same book?

The workbook itself is on a shared network drive

are you using excel 2010? make sure you've selected the option to allow changes by more than one user at a time - it should work.
