    Autofilter by date

I have a need to pull in Expense lines from 28 workbooks every day. In column Q of the Expense workbooks there is an "Acct Dt", formatted like "9/6/2011". I'd like to run an autofilter to select only those lines with an Acct Dt within the past 30 days, or with no acct dt. How would I create that autofilter, or would I have to create some kind of helper column to do it?

    Thanks,
    John

Depends if the dates are real dates or text
    Hope that helps.

They appear to be real dates. The cells are formatted as "Date", with the selection "*3/14/2001". When I click in the cell the value in the formula bar, for the one referenced in my first post, is "9/6/2011"

Another aspect that may make it easier; the Expense workbooks come preloaded with a pivot. I double-click the Grand Total of the pivot to get the lines. I can manipulate the pivot. Would it be easier, and if so how would I do it, to simply bring the Acct Dt into the pivot, and select to show only the dates I want (within a 30 day range), and the blanks? Then I could doubleclick that total and my unwanted lines wouldn't be in the detail.

Found a way by using a macro from Ozgrid.
