Finiding max value in Access table and populate in Excel userform textbox

Hi guys

I have an Access database and in that there is a table named tblmain. Now I have a new project which is bulit in excel as a frontend and Access as a backend. Inthis when a userform is loaded then the textbox should be automatically set to maximum value in Ref field of the tblmain. Below is the code in Access that will find max value in its table tblmain and then input the max value in the texbox. But I want to write code in Excel that will check max value in other Access database.The Ref always starts with Alphabet ans then 5 digits e.g A12345, C12345,F88112 etc.

Is this going to be a one off query or are you going to be requesting data frequently from the database?
