further explaination of transpose solution

But, the problem is I don't understand it. I am sorry - I am at that point where I use formulas well, but don't use programming at all... Better knowledge than some, much less than almost all of you here.

My data has the following:

Column A, B, C, D - etc.
row 1 data 1, skipped, data 2, skipped, data 3.. etc.
row 2 data 1, skipped, data 2, skipped, data 3, etc.

So, I need to take the bits of data in columns C, E, G, etc for a series, and transpose it to show:
A1, C1
A1, E1
A1, G1
B1, C1
B1, E1
B1, G1

Now I am pretty sure that is what the answer showed in the other forum thread. But I don't understand it one bit.

If you could help me understand, it would be greatly appreciated. I am not sure how to even implement, start - or anything.

Thank you in advance for your help in making me less Excel ignorant in this area.

Your example file doesn't have any data in columns C, E or G.

Is this really representative of your request? Also can you update to show exactly what the output should be for your example data.

I should have been more clear - the example in my description was not the actual data. The file attached is an example of actual data. There are Grades. In each grade, there are steps. I need to have the file go from:
Grade Step 1 Step 2 Step 3
Next Grade Step 1 Step 2 Step 3
etc.
to
Grade Step 1
Grade Step 2
Grade Step 3
Next Grade Step 1
repeat..
