I have a worksheet that has some financial calculations that users can simply just input variables and it does all the work. However, these users are not very Excel savvy so I've had to Protect the worksheet and only unlock the cells I want them to have the ability to change. I've attached the workbook for reference with two tabs; before and after.
The problem is that it's a template that will either need to have rows deleted, inserted or even bulk rows copied and inserted at the bottom of the sheet as the project lists grow. As you can see from the attached worksheet, when the worksheet is protected you cannot copy a row in insert the row, nor can you delete empty rows since there are full columns of information that intersect the rows that are protected.
Maybe this is a simple Excel setting I'm missing but I don't seem to see what it is. I've Googled the issue and many people suggest macros to fix the problem.
One more note: You'll notice the empty row above "REF 1" and below "REF 20". These are left there specifically so that no user copies a row or group or rows, then inserts them at the top of the bottom of the Reference string and thus adding the data outside of the summations on the top row.
If this were just for my own use, I know that I could simply Unprotect the Sheet, do my changes, then protect it again and I'd be fine. Again, the less chances for them to mess up the formulations, the better.
Thanks in advance,
