Macro (Or Function) To Search Sheet, Return Whole Row

Example.xlsmSOLVED ON MY OWN USING A WORK-AROUND; THANKS.

    Greetings,

I'm having a hard time piecing together the macros or functions to accomplish what I need Excel to do and hope you can help. Basically, I have a list of numbers in one column on a sheet (Column A). I need a function, or macro, to take the number from cell A1, for example, look onto another sheet in the same workbook and find a match, then return the entire contents of the row to the starting worksheet (VLOOKUP will not work because of mixed cell content - numbers and names in the same cell - I'd need a way to search the cells). See the attached workbook for an illustration of what I'd like to achieve.

    Thanks,

    CVinje

What you described is exactly what I'm trying to accomplish and any help you can offer would be very much appreciated. I have a list of ID numbers in one column (about 400 of them), and I need to return the entire row corresponding to those 400 ID numbers in a much larger spreadsheet. Please help if you can!!!

Hello cdenny, and welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately you have inadvertently broken one of the forum rules. Please read the following and make the necessary change. Thanks.

Your post does not comply with Rule 2 of our Forum RULES. Don't post a question in the thread of another member -- start your own thread. It makes sense to have a new thread for your question because a thread with numerous replies can be off putting & difficult to pick out relevant replies.

lol, ok. he said "contact me" and i thought it most relevent to mention it where the thread was started. As there are no answers but it still states "resolved", perhaps you should consider deleting the thread, rather than trolling the comments.
