Fill empty cells with content of full cells above it

    Hallo,

i need help in filling a very large list. My content is in Column H and there are many empty cells in it. I want the empty cells to be filled with the content of the first full cell above it. I am attaching a dummy list to test purposes. There are two ws: how my original list look like and how the result should look like.

Thanks for your help in advance.

P.S. Last cell in my column H contains "µµµ" / Last cell in column

Highlight H1 down as far as you need your list
    F5 >> Special >> Blanks
Hit the = sign and then the up arrow one time
Do not press enter, instead, Ctrl + Enter
    HTH
    Regards, Jeff

...then highlight column H, copy it, then Edit > Paste Special > Values > OK.

Now the formulas are gone leaving values only. The results of this technique give you your described verbal request in post #1, but not your worksheet demonstrated results. Your worksheet showed the string values being numbered sequentially, which is a completely different problem and you didn't state you really wanted that.
