Formula/Script to change reference cell based on date?

Hello -

I've searched the forums and found a number of posts that are similar to what I'm doing, but are (I think) actually much more complex. I'm not a very advanced Excel user, so forgive me if this is something really simple to do.

I have one sheet that is updated manually on a daily basis with one new value per day. In other words, cells A1 through A30 (or A31) each have a value one day of the month.

On another sheet, I need a cell that refers to the correct cell from the first sheet for the current day only. So, on this Sheet2, A1 should refer to Sheet1!A1 on (for example)Jan. 1, then on Jan. 2, Sheet2!A1 should move down to Sheet1!A2 for the next day's value, and so on.

Is there a formula that will achieve this? Or can someone suggest a script that will do the trick?
