Smile Password for Data Validation selected List

    Hello,

I am seeking a VBA MAcro help.

My question is if i select a list from data validation list. Only selected one list should have password as restricted information.

Let say i have 3 options as below

    - Staff List (Any one can see)
    - Staff Account (Any one can see)
    - Staff salary (Restricted) no one can see only me.

Sample file is attached for your easy reference.

i need a solution on this to apply on my original file.

Re: Password for Data Validation selected List

Do these lists apply to workbooks/worksheets/named ranges? If you are looking to have information populate a sheet based on a drop down which is what I assume you want and it is strictly confidential then excel is not your answer. Excel security is very poor. That being said for the average excel user you can have xlsheetveryhidden which are difficult to open unless you know a little about excel. As well how do you determine it is you looking at the information? You can look at environmental variables to get machine/user names so it depends on where the excel sheet is going to reside and how it is distributed - on a network/single PC.
Really need more information especially what the drop down list is to trigger - sheet/workbook etc
Perhaps a dummy sample would help with no sensitive data would be a starting point and be very specific about what you want to achieve

    Hope this helps.
