Please advise

I am a complete and utter novice to Excel macros but I am hopeful that some one could help me in my current situation. I am sorting through a txt file (convert to excel) from a federal site. They left one key date out of the file and after 2 months and a lot of phone calls I don't think they will be sending me the file. I would like to use the unique campaign id (in column A) to search each file http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/recallsearch.cfm and return the manufacture's date of record from the results page and return that to column B).

Thus far, I've tried to record a macro for the beginning and the end of the process while I used a free-trial to record the online process. This was not successful. I would appreciate any advise and guidance as this is new territory for me.

Oh. As a point of reference, the campaign ids look like 05V009000, 05V011000, or 05V012000.
